It's Never Too Late...

It's never too late for a first post. While we might be pretty far into the season, nonetheless it's still getting pretty exciting. Last week we had two major upsets - Hughes over Switch, ending their 8 game winning streak. That's what happens when the team leader (Anne Castellano) goes out of town on business. Then, the game on the other field...GROOVE beat 4-Alarm Studios by one run. One stinkin' run. That completely mixed up the standings. Going into last weeks games, Switch was in first, 4-Alarm in second, Hughes in third, GROOVE in fourth. Well, now take a look. Standings are determined first by wins, then head to head competition, then runs differential.

Other happenings last week: RT played Drive. Well...did they? Apparently there was some umpire trouble and RT was forced to forfeit. However, Drive and RT played anyway and it ended in a tie. When asked if he was okay replaying the game, Larry from Drive said "Well, is that my only choice? I'd rather have an oil wrestling match with their coach [Laura]?" After speaking with Laura, she seemed to be up for it, but more importantly, her teammates were behind her 100%. I'll let all of you know what ends up happening - Make-up Game or Oil Wrestling. Either way it will certainly be intense.

We're off this week due to the 4th of July holiday, but we'll be back in full force come July 10th with a new schedule and 9:30 games to keep us on track to finishing the league in the month of July, or at worst case, early August.

TTFN.

Golf Scramble

As many of you know, the St. Louis Hellbenders represent the St. Louis Ad Club Softball League at the Sports Illustrated Advertising Softball World Series in October at different locations. Previous years have been played in Florida, Arizona, and Colorado - just to name a few. This year the location is Nevada...Las Vegas to be exact.

The St. Louis Hellbenders are mostly comprised of players from Ad Pariahs and Hughes, but it looks like we have a few interested parties from Spark and Hoffman Lewis this year. All of this is great, as a matter of fact, we'd like to have enough interest to comprise a whole additional team to take to Las Vegas this year. Two St. Louis Co-ed teams and a St. Louis Men's team would be fantastic.

I'll admit, the cost to some is a little bit steep, which is why the St. Louis Hellbenders do several fundraisers to help offset the out of pocket cost. This year, for the second time, they're holding a Golf Scramble at Normandie on June 10th. They're looking for foursomes for the scramble, hole sponsors, and people to purchase golf balls for a chance to win $500. I hope, that even if some of you aren't interested in playing in the Sports Illustrated Softball Advertising World Series, that you might be interested in getting a foursome together for a great afternoon of golf with a chance for Cardinal Tickets, door prizes, and beer.

If your interested in getting a foursome together, sponsoring a hole, or buying a golf ball for the drop, please shoot me an email, or contact the names on the flyer.

Thanks,

Jamie
